Are Google's AdSense Statistics Any Use?
by Michael Cheney
If you use the Google AdSense program, you'll know that you can log-in and
view the statistics to see how many people have visited your site, particular
pages and clicked on ads. But apart from that it doesn't really show you a massive
amount. It won't show you for example how people found the page, which particular
ads they clicked on, or what they typed into a search engine to find that page
if they used a search engine. The other thing that the AdSense stats don't allow
you to do is to actually get the emails and reports sent to you directly. That
is, until now.
Google AdSense has launched a brand new feature that basically lets you set
up an email functionality so that they will email you your reports periodically.
This means you can get your AdSense earnings reports sent to you directly; once
a day at the very most. So if you're one of these addicts who likes checking
their AdSense statistics every few minutes then it's not for you. But if you're
traveling away from home and you want access to your stats via email, it's a
great system.
What it means is that you can dial into your email and view your AdSense statistics
remotely without having to log into the AdSense program. You can also give AdSense
different email addresses. This makes it really simple to get the reports information
out to other people without having to give direct access to all your account
details. If you're not willing to spend too much time at an internet cafe or
you're worried about logging into your AdSense account from an unsecured internet
connection then this is also a great solution.
For those of you that are looking for more AdSense statistics you might want
to consider a tool that I use called AdSense
Gold. This is simply the best tool on the Internet for tracking
AdSense statistics. It tells you all you could possibly want to know about your
AdSense ads and goes way beyond what Google will tell you.
It shows you from each page which ads have been clicked on. It gives you the
IP address for the person that has clicked on the ad and it tells you how they
actually found that page. It gives you the referring URL, whether it's a search
engine or whatever. If it is a search engine, it tells you what that person
typed in to land on that page. This is very useful information because you can
use it to optimize the page further for that phrase and get more traffic.
The other thing that comes with AdSense
Gold is a massive keyword list that includes some high-earning
AdSense keywords, some of which pay over 30 dollars per click. You can use this
keyword list to start creating content and embedding these phrases into your
content to earn more and more from AdSense. You also get around 11,000 free
articles already embedded with key phrases that you can lift and use directly,
with permission, on your website.
Although Google has made strides here to actually give you the latest statistics
directly, via email, I'm sure you'll agree that it still has some way to go
to match the likes of AdSense
Gold in giving you the ultimate statistics to earn more revenue
from your sites.
